xQc is Back in the Game

As of yesterday, Félix “xQc” Lengyel will be playing as a substitute main tank for the Gladiators Legion. Current Legion main tank player Byung-ho “Panker” Lee has a two-way contract with the Gladiators. This contract means that Panker could switch to play for the main Overwatch League team and would leave the Legion without their tank player. Félix will take “Panker’s” place as the main tank if this switch happens.

Following this tweet, xQc came out on his stream in full Gladiators gear. He also announced that he signed with the team about a month ago and was only now able to talk about it.

Félix played for Dallas Fuel in Season 1 of the Overwatch League. He was suspended for four games and fined $2,000 for anti-gay remarks made against Austin “Muma” Wilmot, a fellow Overwatch League player for the Houston Outlaws. Félix’s second suspension occurred due to derogatory language and multiple social media violations. He received a fine of $4,000 and was suspended for four games after his second offense. xQc decided to step away from Dallas Fuel due to this second suspension. After he left the League, Félix became a full-time streamer, though he did get back on the stage for the 2018 Overwatch World Cup as a player for team Canada.

Moving forward, this is a step in the right direction for xQc to start playing in the professional circuit again. Maybe we’ll see Félix playing for the League in the future, or perhaps he’ll return to full time streaming. Some fans are excited to hear that Félix will be onstage at long last. Others are less enthusiastic about his return. I don’t think we can hold his mistakes over his head forever. Hopefully, xQc will make some better decisions this time around.

What do you think? Should xQc be allowed to play again? Let us know in the comments!
