Every Rumor Heard was an Understatement.
Yesterday, Blizzard allowed virtual ticket holders for the Blizzcon event to try out an early demo of WOW Classic. Going into the demo, I had an idea of what to expect. I had leveled my first character back at the beginning of WOTLK, back when the leveling system still had similarities to the classic experience. Not to mention all the rumors and stories I had heard about how hard it was to level back then. And trust me when I say, that all you’ve heard about classic WOW is true. You will have your ass kicked and face bloodied, with an axe or two lodged in your back. The frustration will be brutal at times, but trust me when I say that you will love almost every second of it.
Tales, Quest and Fellowships.
Nowadays, a level 15 rogue can take on up to three enemies with little to no trouble, but here it’s always best to pick off mobs one by one. This is why group play is strongly encouraged. During a quest, which by the way can actually feel like one long adventure. Players may run into one another during a specific quest. It’s always best to team up with that player in order to make things easier on yourselves, especially during fetch and kill quest. And with no quest markers that point to the location on your map, your required to read in order to figure out your objective, which can make it feel like a scene out of Lord of the Rings. Trust me when I say, the best way to go about completing quest, is to form long lasting fellowships with fellow players.
A UI Both New and Old.
The first thing that players will notice is how the UI is exactly like it was in classic WOW. Each player has the three main stats consisting of strength, agility and intellect but only one or sometimes two will provide a benefit. Resistances are also back in full swing, making it so that certain gear can give you a certain defense to a type of magic that could be deadly, such as fire or nature magic. Weapon skills are also a thing once more; however, you do begin the demo at level 15 with the result maxing most of them out. And trust me when I say, you will miss and be parried a lot. And I mean, a lot.
When Will it Come?
Wow Classic will launch in the summer of 2019. However, there could perhaps be a delay or an unforeseen problem with the launch. With several people claiming that the scale could be massive. The price meanwhile is the cost of a current wow subscription, with the game being available to all wow subscribers.
