Many of you might remember Garrosh Hellscream as a former Warchief of The Horde.
Garrosh was chosen by Thrall in Cataclysm to lead the Horde. Garrosh was later on defeated and replaced by Vol’jin. One of the many things you see today is that Lady Sylvanas is Garrosh 2.0. But, Blizzard denies that this is even the case. There have been very little mortals as well known as Hellscream.
Garrosh’s father was Grommash Hellscream, and he was the leader of the Warsong clan. Garrosh grew up in Draenor under his father’s shadow. Grom was the first Orc leader to have drank the blood of Mannoroth. Him drinking this blood allowed the orcs to subjugate to the Legion’s will. Garrosh along with many other orcs became sick with an illness called the Red Pox, before this event.
The orcs who had fallen ill with Red Pox were then quarantined and sent to Nagrand. These Orcs would then escape the demonic corruption. Hellscream became ashamed of his father; he remained this way for many years. Once he met Thrall, he learned that Grom redeemed himself and was a hero instead. Learning this, Garrosh was no longer ashamed of his father.
Garrosh rose to the occasion and became a strong leader. He had the potential to remain this strong leader. He led troops in Northrend and directed the Horde advance through Borean Tundra. Garrosh won the hearts of his people. His full intentions were to restore the orcs glory no matter the cost. He was very uncompromising and proud.
Garrosh’s thirst for power began to corrupt him during the war between the factions. Lord Garrosh started to not care about the means used to bring the supremacy of the orcs to Azeroth. He would be the worlds supreme ruler, and he went as far as unleashing the full power of a dead old God’s heart. He resurrected it using the pools of power and destroyed half of the Vale of Eternal Blossoms while he was at it.
Garrosh ended up becoming the final antagonist in Mists of Pandaria. He was then captured, defeated, and depowered by the coalition below Orgrimmar. The Pandarens went to take him back to Pandaria as a war criminal, but he ended up escaping to Draenor. Draenor was an alternate timeline that he fled to, where Thrall ended up defeating him. Vol’jin would become the next Warchief after Garrosh.
What do you think of Garrosh? Do you wish he was still Warchief of the Horde? What about Sylvanas? Is she Garrosh 2.0? Let us know in the comments! We’d love to hear from you.
