The video dramatizes the events of the Wound in the World in Patch 7.3.5.
Ivan Kuzkin, who creates World of Warcraft fan videos, has made another video regarding the defeat of Argus the Unmaker in Patch 7.3.5. In the ending cinematic, the Titans jail Sargeras, but Sargeras stabs Azeroth with his sword. This will lead to the events in Battle For Azeroth.
The video takes place from the perspective of NPCs in Silithus and Un’Goro Crater. Those who have leveled through these zones may have fond memories of these places. Another interesting tidbit to look at is that there are no voiceovers, with Kuzkin relying on music and visuals.
Fans have weighed in on Kuzkin’s work. Many fans and commenters were extremely active in praising Kuzkin’s work, with some of them saying that he was doing a better job than even Blizzard itself.
“I wish more in-game cinematics were like this. Players would be emotionally a lot more invested in the catastrophic events in the game,” said 8unny. “Oh wow, I’m speechless, its quality is beyond what Blizzard does in terms of in-game scenes, like discovering Azerite,” Arraya said.
“[The video] shows Ivan’s not only great at animation but also has a very good understanding of what is cinematically engaging. The actions and reactions of the characters feel natural and the human scale perspective is a welcome counterpart to the original cinematic’s titan/god’s point of view. Very impressive work,” said hrlqn.
“Blizzard, hire this guy, please. We need more videos like this in the game,” said Lupkin. If anything, this should catch the attention of Blizzard and hopefully change the course of their in-game cinematics in the future. Kuzkin, who goes by the YouTube name IKedit, is based in Russia.
