Animated Short Film Warbringers: Jaina is Live!

Blizzard recently released their new animated short film Warbringers: Jaina following on the comics they released earlier this year. Each of these stories is leading up to the new expansion Battle for Azeroth coming out in August. The short series are in conjunction with the Christie Golden novel Before the Storm.

In this film, Jaina is next to a hooded spirit as she takes a boat through a journey of memories. She gives up her anchor pendant to this figure before it will take her on this ride. She originally got the pendant from the Ruins of Theramore according to Wowhead.

She thinks back of some of the trials and tribulations she has had to go through during her journey, including her choice not to fight by her father’s side. According to Blizzard, Jaina is saying that she will not step aside again.

Once she reaches the end of the ship ride, Jaina appears to pull a ship from the depths of the ocean with her magic. Once she has completed this task, she is heard saying, “I’m listening now, Father” before the spirit figure vanishes. She also heeds a warning throughout, “beware the daughter of the sea,” which is part of the chant. At the end, she warns again, “beware of me.”

The haunting melody is sung by Jaina’s voice actor, Laura Bailey, throughout the film and is depicting the Kul Tiras folk song “Daughter of the Sea”.
