All the biggest news and highlights from PC Gamer’s E3 2018 Conference.

For the fourth year, PC Gaming Show at E3 was presented by PC Gamer, and it promised to be something big. Prior to their live stream on Monday, June 11th at 6 pm EST. There was a confirmed listed of 21 presenters and a few more being kept secret.

While PC gaming show tends to be a bit quirky lost in the shadows of some of the bigger names presenting, they always deliver one new hardware and interesting indie gaming titles at the very least. Like their panel said, “there is magic in PC gaming.” This year, they definitely delivered with a large list of presenters and incredible announcements.

Coffee Stain Studios

This presentation started off by winding us through and over different roads, twisting across different terrains, and building civilizations. The title of this game: Satisfactory. Players take on the role of an engineer and are responsible for building incredible machines and bits of architecture. The game itself is pretty realistic as you will have to forage for and create materials in order to continue creating factories. Unlike other games in this category, Satisfactory is in first-person, and the game is co-op. Players wanting a chance to be a part of the Alpha can sign up at satisfactorygame.com

NeoCab

Neocab is an indie game that comes in the form of a classic “choose your own adventure.” Players take the front seat of a futuristic cab, but it is not at all what it seems superficially.

Automaton Games

Maverick’s Proving Grounds. Handling up to 1,000 concurrent players at a time, PC Gamer gave us our first ever popular Battle Royale style game of their conference. The game appeared to be a survival style PVP game, but what sets this game apart from others already on the market looks like map size and environment variety. The CEO said that death is the biggest unique characteristic in this game, which also plays into the map size and environment variety. Maverick’s Proving Grounds has mountains, fire, way more players, and a more complex simulation style, making death more imminent in this game. Players will leave footprints and break foliage as they make their way through the terrain.

Star Control: Origins

Star Control, an International Space Agency, taxed with the defense of Earth and discovering the unknown. This game allows you to join the force to explore an open universe, discover alien species, and ultimately keep the planet safe. Patrick Shaw, the director for this game, describes the game as an RPG immersive action game. What makes this game so cool is that it has an infinite universe. This means is that even if you are on a tiny planet in the corner of the universe, the vast universe around you keeps interacting and moving around you. Star Control Origins is available right now for pre-order and will be launching on September 20th of 2018.

The Sinking City

A Lovecraft-ian, open world, third person, action-investigation game. This game allows you to be a detective in a supernatural, flooded world. The presenter promises that the game places emphasis on the investigation factor of the game and that they won’t hold player’s hands. There are no map markers or quest trackers; instead, players must look for clues and listen to the storyline to know where to go and what to do next. The game also puts an insanity mechanism into play and this concept directly impacts the gameplay. The more disturbing the world gets, the more your character may struggle (hearing voices, dark thoughts, blurred vision, etc). These also serve as clues that something big is happening.

Warframe

A third-person, co-op focused action game at its core; Warframe gave us the very first look at WarframeThe Sacrifice, the next installment in the franchise. Without giving away any spoilers, the wait for Umbra is finally over and the game releases this week on PC.

Sega

Sega is bringing some of our old, along with a couple new, favorites to PC starting this Summer. Valkyria 4, Yakuza, and Shining Resonance are among the discussed titles.

Tripwire Interactive

Killing Floor 2 is confirmed to have 4 new big updates. Treacherous Skies: Summer Side Show was announced and viewers got a first look at the trailer during the conference. The game combines robots, Steampunk, and a sideshow carnival with the gore and action that is part of the beloved Tripwire persona. This new game is available tomorrow. Tripwire also announced that they are stepping into the publishing and marketing world to help smaller developers break into the industry. A world exclusive look at their newest game Man Eater was shown. This game is an open world action RPG that allows players to play as a shark and wreak havoc through the Gulf Coast.

Just Cause 4

The creators confirmed that everything players loved from Just Cause 3, is back…but BETTER. They have incorporated extreme weather and more realistic physics. The game is set to release on December 4th of this year.

Untitled Publishers

Untitled announced 3 new games and immediately released one. Bravery Network Online, a cartoon “choose your own adventure” fighting game. Morning Star, and Overwhelm, an 8-Bit side scroll game. Overwhelm is available to play on Steam right now.

Insomniac

Stormland, a new first-person virtual reality game, challenges us to reclaim our world.

Insomniac describes their game beautifully with this quote: “The Tempest shattered your android body. Now you must journey through an ever-changing cloudscape to augment yourself and save your friends. Explore an expansive world with complete freedom—bound up cliffs, glide across chasms, and fly through the slipstream with velocity. Detonate explosives, harness electricity, and wield makeshift weapons to overcome titanium sentries and monolithic guardians. Play single-player, or explore forgotten ruins together.”

Star Citizen

Star Citizen, the game that made more money than all other video games on Kickstarter combined, is an upcoming massively multiplayer, space trading and combat game. During the conference, players got a first look at the new trailer. Still no word on a release date, however.

Hi-Rez Studios

Realm Royale: Playing into the Battle Royale craze that is all the rage in the gaming world right now. What separates Realm Royale apart from other games like this, you pick specific fantasy roles and abilities that determine your game-play before you even land. Players will need to level up abilities, on top of gear and weapons, in order to be successful. It is currently available on Steam for free.
