Bandai Namco is bringing together the heavyweights of anime for Jump Force.
During PAX 2019, I got the chance to sit down and interview Bandai Namco for their upcoming game, Jump Force, and I have to say my mouth is still wide open in astonishment. The game is an open arena combat game where you can pick an assortment of fighters. The catch is these fighters are from our favorite anime and manga series published in the Weekly Shonen Jump anthology which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
Have you ever wondered whether Goku would beat Naruto or vice versa? Well, now you have the chance. Characters were taken from 10 different anime series and selected through popular demand but didn’t sacrifice balance. Bandai Namco was listening to its fan base while creating this game.
The game will have characters from multiple popular animes, such as Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, and Bleach.
Jump Force combines these different universes into one giant anime battle royal. With characters from our favorite animes like Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, Bleach, and One Piece alongside many other series thrown in the mix, this is sure to be one hell of a fight. There is also an open world element, much like their previous games, Dragon Ball Xenoverse and its sequel, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. This gives you the freedom to explore an open world environment in RPG style gameplay and allows you to create your own character and follow the storyline at your leisure.
The gameplay and game mechanics may feel similar to any Xenoverse veterans but for being similar they are vastly different. With smoother controls that are easy to learn but hard to master it will leave you wanting more. That mixed with the beautiful graphics, ultra smooth gameplay, and destructible environments mean we are in for a fight of the ages. Jump Force will have matchmaking and private matches upon release on February 15, 2019. It will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. This game is sure to be a hit with anime fans, so get ready for one epic fight.
