Ace Combat 7 has been described as a soap opera with jets.
Ace Combat is no stranger in the gaming world. If you have played any flight simulators or any style of pilot game, more than likely you have heard of ace combat. While at PAX South 2019 during an interview with Bandai Namco we got the lowdown on a high flier: Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown.
This isn’t your typical traditional flight game. Ace Combat 7 took it up a notch with brand new updated graphics and new mechanics that will change the flight simulator and plane combat genre for good. This game takes place in a fictional world and added more than just flight missions with a very driven storyline that will keep the pilot on the razor’s edge of their seat.
Ace Combat 7 places emphasis on storytelling more than in previous installments.
The main focus was the story of this game. We were told that it was a soap opera with jets. Nothing could make this game sound better. With new game dynamics and graphical upgrades, they have made a very realistic flight experience. Weather can now affect your equipment. Electrical storms can damage and stall your jet, sending you into a free fall. Fog can obstruct your line of sight, and water droplets can form on the hood of your cockpit. They added trueSKY technology that was designed to make the most realistic gameplay on the market. Also on the list of new tech is the V.R. Mode, which has a separate campaign. There are also 3 other story missions where you play as Mobius 1 from Ace Combat 5.
However, it’s not all story and campaign. You can still get in dog fights and shoot down enemy players in their multiplayer games modes including TDM 4v4 and a new 8 player free-for-all battle royale.
Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is currently out on PS4 and Xbox One and will be receiving a PC release on February 1, 2019. Take flight with one of the most realistic flight sim/plane combat games and get your Maverick on, Top Gun style.
