Call of Duty Black Ops 4

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 PC Version Will be Joining Battle.Net!

Activision recently announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be exclusively found on Battle.Net for PC gamers, along with the PS4 and XBox One versions.  This is similar to Activision’s roll-out of Destiny 2 on Battle.net last year.  Users can already see the Call of Duty icon on the Battle.net login page.

You may be wondering what this means for PC gamers, or why we care?  Gamers will have access to friends playing other games on Battle.net while playing Black Ops 4.  Users will also be able to purchase World of Warcraft tokens and Blizzard Balance to purchase this game, making it more accessible for many players.

Players that enjoy a multiplayer game will enjoy the new changes that include the multiplayer experience with the storyline.  Black Ops 4 appears to be much more centered around this type of play than the original storyline play as it is doing away with the single-player mode.  Blackout Mode will now be joining the popular Zombies Mode to give the game a feel similar to the battle-royale popular games such as PUBG and Fortnite.  Players can join 100 other players to fight to the death on a new map.  This map is proposed to be about 1500 times larger than the Nuketown map.  Users will also be getting new weapon attachments to further enhance gameplay.

You can read more about this new development on Wowhead.  Below is one of the trailers from Wowhead’s release article.

Gamers can sign up for the Black Ops 4 private beta through Battle.net at moreintel.blizzard.com.  This game is set to release on all platforms on October 12, 2018.  You can pre-order for Black Ops 4 at the Blizzard Store.

Battle for Azeroth Beta: Kul Tiran Druid Aquatic Form Released

Calling all Kul Tiran druids! The aquatic form has officially been released to the Beta.

The new form is very “Walrus” like, and leaves many of us anxiously anticipating the release of the Moonkin form. All 4 variations feature tusks, and give off a tree like feel. In fact, this sort of reminds me of the League of Legends character, Maokai.   Let’s look at the 4 different visual forms.

The first on the lineup is the brown form. This form features a dark brown body, fading into lighter brown fins, which resemble the roots of a tree. The hair features brown with hints of green.

The dark form is my personal favorite, with a dark grey body and grey blue hair. This form is almost eerie and not something that you would want to encounter in the dark.

Green is perhaps the most colorful of the lineup. It features a lighter brown body and vibrant green hair. The face is almost white, and is one of the less intimidating of the four.

The light form features a grey body, and yellowish blond hair. This one I would envision as the most closely associated with the Alliance faction. Honestly, I feel like it is the water form of the gryphon.

Overall, I feel like Blizzard nailed this form. The Kul’ Tiran race really encapsulates nature ,and with this walrus like tree aquatic form it truly nails it. For someone who hasn’t taken the time to really level a druid, I might make the jump to play this one. All of the revealed druid forms for the Kul’ Tiran druids are spectacular.

What are your thoughts on the Kul’ Tiran Druid aquatic form? What color form is your favorite? For you Horde players, do you think you would make the jump to Alliance for the opportunity to play this one? Let us know in the comments!

Battle For Azeroth Beta: Black Market Auction House Locations

The black market auction house is a place where players can buy extremely rare items.

For those of you looking for extremely rare items to show off to your friends, the black market auction house (BMAH) is the place to look. In Battle For Azeroth, the BMAH is located in several areas. The BMAH was introduced in Mists of Pandaria for players with a lot of gold who wanted to get their hands on rare items and has been in the game ever since.

According to Wowhead, this is also the first time that multiple BMAH vendors are up simultaneously. This may be because the factions are once again at war, meaning that Alliance and Horde can’t go to the same BMAH vendor. One commenter did point out that rogues have a BMAH as well, meaning that technically, there are multiple BMAH vendors right now. However, the rogue BMAH is class-specific.

Black Market Auction House Horde

The BMAH is in Dazar’alor for the Horde. Madame Goya makes her return as the purveyor of ultra-rare items that hardcore World of Warcraft completionists can find, such as Tier 3 armor and mounts that are no longer in the game. She can be found in the Tortollan Refuge.

On the Alliance side, Madam Gosu makes an appearance at Hook Point in Boralus. She used to have bodyguards surrounding her, but hostile mobs are still nearby.

Black Market Auction House Alliance

How much are BMAH bids?

For those unfamiliar with the BMAH, pets start at about 1,000 gold. Rare tabards and shirts start bidding at 5,000 gold each. Tier 3 transmog pieces start with a minimum bid of 10,000 gold. Uncommon pets and toys start off at 15,000 gold, and mounts have a starting bid of 20,000 gold.

In the grand scheme of things right now, these are tiny amounts of gold. The rarer the item, the more gold you’ll be spending. It is not unheard of for bids to enter the realm of 100,000+ gold (and for some items, bids of 1 million gold are possible), so if you really want something, you’ll have to farm a lot of gold to get it.

What are your thoughts on the locations of these BMAH vendors? Let us know in the comments below!

Throwback Thursday: Skies of Arcadia

skies of arcadia

Skies of Arcadia brought about a well crafted story set in a beautiful and mystical world.

The subject of this week’s Throwback Thursday comes in the form of Skies of Arcadia. The game that established itself as one of the most unique and memorable RPGs of the early 2000’s. It debuted in 2000 by developer Overworks, and was published by Sega for the Dreamcast. It has been praised by both critics and gamers for it’s story and unique world. But unfortunately, the game was not a big seller on the market. Despite an enhanced re-release on the Gamecube in 2003, it found little success.

Skies Cover

The game follows the adventures of three characters, each with their own backstory and personality. Vyse and Aika are members of an air pirate crew known as the Blue Rouges, who wage war against the tyrannical Valuan Empire. One fateful day, however, they encounter a mysterious girl named Fina, who is seeking a way to keep an ancient power out of Valuans hands. Over the course of the story, the bond of the three heroes grows as they travel the world of Arcadia in order to thwart Valuans schemes of world domination. At times, others characters who are just and unique and diverse as the main cast join their party and provide their skills and expertise to assist the group. As for the world itself. Each civilization and continent has its own unique culture, offering players a large set of biomes to explore.

Skies of Arcadia delivered a unique battle system for it’s time.

Gameplay takes shape in the form of a traditional third person perspective when roaming the world map. A turn based combat system is utilized for enemy encounters throughout the game. Unlike other games were monsters roam the world map, battles are completely random. These can appear at any time throughout the game, with the exception of towns. The battle system has unfortunately not aged very well. Battles can be at times unpredictable and tedious, with slow combat animations. Even for a turn based system, they can tend to drag as the game goes on. But, combat does not take place solely on foot. Being an air pirate means having access to your own customizable airship, which you can take to the skies to just simply explore and discover. Or, you can battle other enemy airships, each with their own tactics and weapons at their disposal.

Skies ship battle

Aside from the main story, players can take part in a variety of side quests. Most of which involve fetching items, while others can unlock hidden bosses or powerful weapons for the player to equip to any of the characters in their party. Some of these side quest can even shed new light on certain characters, or add to the main plot. Whether you choose to complete them is up to you. However, after a certain point, some quest or items may become unavailable as the player progresses throughout the story.

Skies of Arcadia offers a fantastic and mysterious world to explore, and a memorable soundtrack to accompany it. This game is one of those rare gems that delivers an unforgettable experience to anyone who enjoys a well-written story.

Battle For Azeroth Beta: Uldir Raid Trinket Procs

Uldir trinket procs revealed

What are some of the Uldir trinket procs? Find out below.

A player’s trinket selection can make or break their mitigation/healing/DPS. In fact, some of the most contested pieces of gear in a raid group are trinkets (i.e. Deathbringer’s Will from Icecrown Citadel in Wrath of the Lich King). Trinkets matter a lot when players are pushing Mythic raiding. AskMrRobot even made a chart to show how much trinkets do matter in the grand scheme of things.

Trinket distribution

This is what we currently know about the procs from the trinkets that drop in the Uldir raid in Battle For Azeroth. These trinkets start at the following item levels: 340 (LFR), 355 (Normal), 370 (Heroic) and 385 (Mythic). Like all pieces of gear, they will have a chance to upgrade, although it is unknown what the chances are.

Strength Users

Disc of Systematic Regression (DPS)

This trinket gives a chance to cause a Void Sector. This deals Shadow damage split among all targets in a cone in front of you.

Xalzaix’s Veiled Eye (Tank)

If a tank falls below 40% HP, they are given a shield that absorbs 50% of incoming damage up to 2049 total damage prevented. This will last for 20 seconds and only occurs once every 2 minutes.

Vanquished Tendril of G’huun (DPS)

Players’ attacks have a chance to summon a Vanquished Tendril of G’huun for 15 seconds. These deal (664 * 15 / 3) Nature damage to enemies.

Trinket: Syringe of Bloodborne Infirmity (DPS)

Attacks will have a chance to cause Wasting Infection. This will deal (472 * 10 / 2) shadow damage over 10 seconds. If you attack an enemy affected by Wasting Infection, you gain 472 critical strike rating for 10 seconds. This can stack up to eight times.

Agility Users

Frenetic Corpuscle (DPS)

Attacks have a chance to grant Frothing Rage, which will stack up to four times. The next attack will deal an additional 3471 physical damage.

Titanic Overcharge (DPS)

Players have a chance to increase their haste by 14 for 8 seconds. This stacks up to 8 times.

Xalzaix’s Veiled Eye (Tank)

If a tank falls below 40% HP, they are given a shield that absorbs 50% of incoming damage up to 2049 total damage prevented. This will last for 20 seconds and only occurs once every 2 minutes.

Intellect Users

Inoculating Extract (Healer)

Upon use, healers inject stacks of Mutating Antibodies into a friendly target. Direct heals on that target will consume a Mutating Antibody to restore 685 health. The trinket has a 90-second cooldown.

Vigilant’s Bloodshaper (DPS)

Players’ damaging spells have a chance to launch a charged blood orb at the target. This will deal damage split between all nearby enemies.

Twitching Tentacle of Xalzaix (DPS)

Damaging spells have a chance to grant Lingering Power of Xalzaix for 12 seconds. After five charges, players will get 189 intellect for 10 seconds.

Jdotb Talks Current and Future Mythic+ Progression

Jdotb, one of the best World of Warcraft players in the world, gives his thoughts on Mythic+ dungeons.

Jdotb is a resto druid who is currently competing on the Method NA team. He will represent them in the Mythic Dungeon Invitational (MDI) LAN finals. While players around the world are scrambling to raise their Raider.io score to get invited into higher and higher Mythic+ keys, Jdotb gives some of his insights into how players can improve to get into the MDI.

Jdotb runs Upper Karazhan +26

Is money the motive in the MDI?

In an interview with Wowhead, the resto druid from Method NA had said that money isn’t the key motivator for participating in the MDI. “If you’re competing in the MDI to win money, then no it isn’t worth the time. It likely never will be. While the MDI has shown promise as a spectator event, it’s unrealistic to think that WoW will suddenly (in its 15th year of existence) become a force in the esports space with PvE content. It wasn’t designed with competition in mind…the prestige is what draws them, not the paycheck,” he said. “The MDI will open a door, not be a destination.”

Could the MDI be relegated to an entry-level competition?

On that note, what does this mean for teams seeking to climb the summit of Mythic+ progression? The lack of a lucrative reward compared to other esports competitions could relegate it to an entry-level competition. This means the MDI could be a test for aspiring esports players to establish their esports credentials. As it currently stands, there are certain ways to guarantee high Raider.io scores: roll a team of blood elves. Thankfully, the changes to Arcane Torrent could force teams to experiment with various race, class, and spec combinations. Until the release of the new Battle For Azeroth dungeons, we don’t really know whether or not it will remain an entry-level competition.

Jdotb acknowledged that EU far outpaces NA in terms of competition.

“The only region that has shown it is dramatically ahead of the rest of the world is EU. There were several teams in EU time trials that just missed the regionals cut that were clearly superior to all but a handful of teams from the rest of the regions. I’m not sure it’d be an exaggeration to say that EU could’ve taken a second group of eight teams and still had more talent in that group than some of the other regions,” he said.

The NA/EU divide has been a point of debate for multiple expansions. This far predates the discussions regarding Mythic+ progression. In my 12 years of playing World of Warcraft, the EU region has always been a step ahead. Today, we are no closer to the answer than we were back then. Despite Blizzard being an American company, you can go to the forums or any World of Warcraft site and see that no one really has the answers. Are EU players simply better? Are NA players simply not that good? This could be an article in its own right. The debate rages on.

Could Battle For Azeroth signal a paradigm shift in Mythic+?

There is no doubt that many classes and specs are being reworked for the new expansion. Jdotb acknowledged this as well. “The one thing I’m really looking for in M+ in BFA is meaningful healer engagement in every dungeon,” he said. “There needs to be some kind of damage coming out that makes a healer feel necessary and (perhaps more importantly) challenged at times. I want more bosses where my performance as a healer matters, where my mistakes will mean a wipe, and where my mastery of my class is tested.”

This may have been in response to teams rolling one tank and four DPS, all with amazing self-heal capabilities, to push high Mythic+ dungeons. Hopefully Mythic+ dungeon groups see healers as an integral part to any push for high keystones in Battle For Azeroth.

What do you think of Jdotb’s insights into the MDI, esports, and Mythic+ dungeons in general? Let us know in the comments below!

Battle For Azeroth Beta: Updates to Darkshore and Stormwind

Burning Teldrassil updates

The beta contains some updates on what happened to Stormwind Harbor and Darkshore.

Alliance players will see some updates to Stormwind Harbor and Darkshore in the beta. The burning of Teldrassil has forced its inhabitants to seek shelter elsewhere. As a result, there is no longer a boat to Darnassus; a ship to Boralus has taken its place.

Stormwind Harbor updatesDue to the burning of Teldrassil, Gilnean and Darnassian refugees are now scattered throughout the city of Stormwind.

Updates on Gilnean and Darnassian refugees

Since Teldrassil’s burning, the harbor seems to be the center of activity for the Darnassian and Gilnean refugees.

Updates to Stormwind Harbor

There is a portal to Darkshore from Stormwind, allowing players to see the burning of Teldrassil itself.

Portal to Darkshore update

Teldrassil itself burns in the not-so-distant background. As a result, the skies around Darkshore are overcast, with the flames and ash drastically altering the background of the area.

Updates to Darkshore More updates to Darkshore

An NPC, Zidormi, can take you back to a time before the burning of Teldrassil.

Updates to Darkshore Zidormi

When will these changes take place? While players can still roll a new level 1 Night Elf character at any time, these changes take place after hitting 110 and purchasing Battle For Azeroth.

Some fans have given feedback on the recent changes. Commenter ArchieAngel said, “This. This is what I want more of in general. Alliance military standing around after battle, going over orders and all of that…It just feels so much more immersive to me. Is it like that for anyone else? Especially the harbor area. I hope they add stuff like that to other parts of the city. Also, those knights with the Warfront gear are SO good.”

What do you think of the latest changes to Stormwind and Darkshore? For Horde players, are the latest story changes that are present in both areas worth leveling as the opposite faction? Let us know in the comments below!

Battle For Azeroth Beta: New Mounts, Pets, Reputations, and Toys

The latest beta build has uncovered some new achievements, mounts, pets, reputations, and toys.

There’s always a wealth of information in beta builds. There are new rewards for adding to your massive collections of mounts, pets, toys, and even achievements. Collecting 350 mounts will reward you with the Biting Frostshard Core, and 400 mounts will net you a Tempestuous Skystallion.

Beta Biting Frostshard Core

Reputation rewards will also be updated in Battle For Azeroth. Players with 80 exalted reputations will net them the Admired title, while players with 100 exalted reputations can avail of the Esteemed title. The Spectral Phoenix is also a possible reputation reward for players with 100 exalted reputations. However, as one commenter pointed out, there are still less than 100 reputations in the game currently. This means players won’t be able to get the Esteemed title or the Spectral Phoenix mount in the first content patch of the game.

Collecting 400 toys will reward the player with Brutus, and some new battle pets include the Rescued Fawn, Hearthy, and Rooter. Hearthy is a Hearthstone-themed elemental pet.

Beta Hearthy Pet

The Uldir raid meta will reward the Bloodgorged Crawg mount. Defeating Mythic G’huun will give players the Purified title.

PvPers will also get some titles: for the World PvP meta, players can receive the Conquerer of Azeroth. Players who win 50 duels will get the Duelist’s Tabard. Those who complete the Dueler’s Guild meta will have the Contender’s title.

Beta Duelist's Tabard

Missions, Warfronts, and the Heart of Azeroth will also have specific achievements.

Missions and Warfronts also have new achievements. The Heart of Azeroth, the new artifact neck piece, also has achievements surrounding it. As of this writing, there are three types of Azerite attuned armor that we know about. These pieces are the helm, shoulders, and chest. It is possible that there could be more Azerite attuned armor pieces come August 14.
