Method is the world’s first guild to clear 9/9 Mythic.
The race for Mythic Battle for Dazar’alor (BOD) came down to the wire. 28 guilds sat at 8/9M for several days. Method pulled ahead of the 28-way tie and took down Mythic Jaina Proudmoore this morning.
What kept many of the guilds stuck at 8/9? The final phase of Mythic Jaina proved to be a significant roadblock for many of the competing guilds. Method decided to spend as little time as possible during the Chilling Touch debuff. The debuff inflicts stacking damage and stacking reduced speed. They utilized bloodlust during that phase, ensuring that they stayed in that phase for as little time as possible. Players will eventually turn into an ice block.
Method utilized raid cooldowns such as Spirit Link Totem and Power Word: Barrier to keep the raid alive during this phase. Melee DPS had to be spot on with kicking the Tide Elemental’s Water Bolt Volley. Sco took an intentional death to high Water Bolt Volley stacks but utilized a shaman’s Ancestral Protection Totem to avoid the ice block. The effort was also part RNG, as most boss fights tend to be.
NA and EU had different variables when it came to this raid.
“As this was a short raid tier with 7 out of 9 Mythic bosses cleared in the first day of progression, many players speculated that the 16-hour gap between NA and EU would be significant in determining the outcome of the race. Limit cleared to Jaina quite quickly, reaching the final phase on Thursday night,” the Wowhead post says. Another factor included bug fixes from NA servers that are usually fixed in time for EU progression. One of Method’s rivals, Limit, reported bugs on the Stormwall Blockade fight.
Congratulations to Method on their world first kill. Do you plan to do any Mythic raiding? Who do you think will take world first in the next raid? Let us know in the comments below!
