A little over a month ago Bethesda, the company behind favorites such as Fallout and Elder Scrolls, started teasing fans about something new happening in the franchise. Fans waited in anticipation as Bethesda confirmed what fans had been waiting to hear.

A new Fallout game is coming!

The Bethesda conference at E3 gave us all the details on Fallout 76. Whether you are excited for the multiplayer experience, Fallout 76 is set to deliver. One thing is for sure: you are all still screaming the song from the trailer.

But have no fear!

Bethesda told us that they are releasing the version of “Take Me Home, Country Roads” cover featured in the teaser trailer for download. To top it off, all proceeds from purchasing the track will go to the non-profit organization, Habitat for Humanity.

The song officially released to the public today on iTunes and fans are able to own a copy by donating at least a dollar to purchase.

“Take Me Home, Country Roads” was originally performed by John Denver, but Fallout 76’s version was performed and recorded by COPILOT Strategic Music + Sound. COPILOT is a music company launched in 2008 by Jason Menkes and is based in New York. You may recognize these names because COPILOT also did a cover of “Gold Dust Woman” by Fleetwood Mac for Dishonored 2.

The nostalgic song directly contributed to the success of the teaser trailer release.

While we have plenty to be excited about with Fallout 76, the concept of the Blue Ridge Mountains and a West Virginian backdrop (something fans have been waiting for) would not have been as excitement-inducing without the nostalgic “Take Me Home, Country Roads” in the background.

It also gives fans of the franchise a uniting anthem. It is going to be interesting to see how many downloads this melody receives before the game comes out. Regardless of the number of copies, Habitat for Humanity is bound to receive an influx of donations because of it.

Fallout 76 is set to release on November 14, 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

What are your thoughts?

Are you planning on purchasing a copy of the song? Are you excited for Fallout 76, or not so much? Can we all at least agree that 1. The cover is incredible and 2. It has made for some of the greatest memes. Let us know in the comments!
