Dead by Daylightis a survival horror game that can be quite fun.
The popular horror game has gained a fandom like no other. This game is still a popular choice for gamers, streamers, and YouTubers. I was one of the players who fell in love with this game. My hand coordination is a little off, so it makes playing these kinds of games harder for me. I only playedDBDwith friends, because they would be understanding.
DVS Community Nights
My friends and I would get together and play a game together, and most of the time it was DBD. I loved this game, but then one day, an announcement would change my opinion forever. DBDwould be fated to get uninstalled from my computer. This would be the last day I would play it
So, what happened that affected me this much? Freddy Krueger was being announced as a new killer for the game. I know, you are thinking “It is stupid to uninstall because of him. You didn’t need to play him.” You’re right, I didn’t need to play him, but I had other reasons. Nightmare on Elm Streetis the only horror movie to EVER give me nightmares.
Freddy Krueger in DBD
I am 36 years old and I still cannot watch Freddy. The only movie I have been able to watch that has him in it is Freddy vs Jason, but that is because I like Jason and he defeats Freddy in the end. In my adult years, my nightmares finally stopped. However, after going through some personal life experiences, the nightmares came back. These nightmares once again brought Freddy to them.
I am a firm believer in dream interpretation. I found out one of my favorite authors, wrote a book called The Nightmare Encyclopedia. In there, it specifically mentions Nightmare on Elm Street and Freddy. The book said that when he shows up in your nightmares, he is portraying your worst fear.
I can look at pictures of Freddy, but I can’t watch the movies or trailers.
I did not want to ask my friends to change who they liked to continue playing the game with me. If they decided to play Freddy, I couldn’t ask them not to. I also had to think of my own mental health. I couldn’t play the game by myself, because the game would be a reality of my dreams. I have enough anxiety problems inWorld of Warcraft due to bridges. The last thing I need, especially right now, is for Freddy to start visiting my dreamland.
Why am I writing this article now? Because even though Freddy released a while ago, I only recently uninstalled the game. I had stopped playing it. Would I play it again? Only time would tell, if one day I could get over my Freddy problems. However, that day is not today.
